Here’s The Cast Of "Crazy Rich Asians" So Far

Constance Wu isn't the only name you'll recognize.

Last May, filmmaker Jon M. Chu promised he would cast "amazing Asian actors" in every role of his film adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians.

After months of Chu scouring the globe for talent, Warner Bros. has announced some members of the star-studded cast.

Fresh Off the Boat star Constance Wu will play the lead, Rachel Chu, a Chinese-American girl-next-door who is suddenly thrown into her Singaporean boyfriend's unwelcoming, old-money world.

Newcomer Henry Golding, a well-known television host in Malaysia, will make his film debut playing Rachel's boyfriend, Nick Young, an NYU professor who actually comes from one of Singapore's wealthiest families.

Michelle Yeoh, an action star best known for her part in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, has been cast as Eleanor Young, Nick's proud mom who disapproves of Rachel.

British actor Gemma Chan, who also stars in Humans, will play the role of Astrid Leong, Nick's cousin, a well-to-do socialite who seems to have it all.

Rapper and Neighbors 2 and Ocean's 8 actor Awkwafina will play Goh Peik Lin, Rachel's best friend and "fairy godmother." The daughter of a millionaire from Singapore, she helps Rachel navigate her boyfriend's world of over-the-top wealth.

Sonoya Mizuno, best known for her roles in Ex Machina and La La Land, will play Araminta Lee, a fashion icon who's engaged to Nick's best friend.

Marco Polo and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny actor Chris Pang will play Colin Khoo, Nick's best friend and Araminta's fiancé. Their nuptials — the most talked-about wedding in all of Asia — is the reason Rachel and Nick visit Singapore.

Australian actor Remy Hii, who previously starred in Marco Polo, will play Alistair Cheng, Nick's cousin who works in the Hong Kong film industry. Alistair is in a relationship with Kitty Pong, a social-climbing soap opera star who is more interested in his money than in him.

The supporting cast includes Stan Lee's Lucky Man's Jing Lusi, The Daily Show's Ronny Chieng, Silicon Valley's Jimmy O. Yang...

Dr. Ken's Ken Jeong, Superstore's Nico Santos, Shadowhunters's Harry Shum Jr. ...

Singaporean actors Pierre Png, Fiona Xie, and Tan Kheng Hua...

And singer and Single by 30 actor Kina Grannis!

This post will be updated as more casting is announced.
