Yeah ok so perhaps we do fall into the "supermodel height" category but it's not all peaches and cream up there let me tell you! If you're under 5'9" you just won't understand...
1. Jeans. Do you know how many high street shops stock jeans with a 36" inside leg or more? Not many. Even the ones who were ace a few years ago (I'm looking at you New Look and Topshop!!) now tend to only have their Tall range available online. Which is great if you love paying for something you're not sure you want to buy yet, waiting for delivery to try something on that looks awful and sending it back.
2. It's impossible to look cute. The longer your limbs the more awkward you are. Fact.
3. Aeroplanes and back seats in cars are just a test to see how good you are at folding yourself into unnatural positions for long periods of time.
4. Short people always complain that us tall girls can carry any weight gain easier. Really? You can't miss me at the best of times, add a few extra pounds and there is just even more of me to spot!
5. Buying anything with sleeves is a stressful experience.
6. High heels make us look like real life giants. We can't just walk into Primark and buy a nice cheap pair of platform heels it's a full scale operation to find a nice medium heel which matches an outfit AND fits our tall girl sized feet. Oh, and don't you dare tell me to wear kitten heels. No one ever looked good in kitten heels.
7. Trying to find a maxi dress that touches the floor or a nice short summer dress that doesn't make you look like you've walked straight out of a Rihanna video.
8. Friends judging you for being height specific with who you date. "That's so shallow.. why does it matter?". Yeah that's really easy for you to say from down there, keep your 5'4" opinions to your short self thank you.
9. Playsuits in Summer just aren't an option you have available to you. One of two things will happen - camel toe or underbum. Or if you're really lucky, both.
10. If you have a job where you sit at a desk all day you will have constant knee bruises. I lose count of the amount of times every day that I mutter "OWWW...£$%^...!!".
11. Normal length shorts always look like hot pants so you end up massacring a pair of jeans to try and make them into acceptable length shorts. It never works.
12. One size fits all. Don't even get me started...
