10 Reasons My Dachshund Makes The Perfect Best Friend
Whoever said diamonds are a girl's best friend must have never had the pleasure of owning a dog. Though I could go on forever, here are 10 reasons why my dachshund makes the bestest best friend a girl could ask for.

Whoever said diamonds are a girl's best friend must have never had the pleasure of owning a dog. I strongly believe that my dog is the best thing that has ever happened to me. A couple of months ago I adopted a 3 year old miniature dachshund from a small dog rescue. His name is Mojo and we have become BFF's. Though I could go on forever, here are 10 reasons why Mojo makes the bestest best friend a girl could ask for.
1.He has the sweetest personality and loves to snuggle. Doesn't matter what kind of mood I am in or if I have been wearing my pajamas all day. He crawls right up into my lap and even sometimes up onto my shoulder. He's like a baby really.
2.He is adorable. He is definitely the centre of my attention and in a short time has me wrapped around his little paw. And I mean who wouldn't; just look at that face!
3.He is patient. Probably the most patient dog I have ever meet. For example, we had a brutally cold winter, and it can get really windy, so I purchased a snazzy winter coat complete with fur hood. During the twenty minutes it took to get him into the coat he never moved, but we could tell he was uncomfortable. I hate to admit it but I was laughing. Like, really laughing. It only got worse when I took him outside and he could not walk in it. He looked like a small child wrapped in so many layers that they kind of waddle back and forth. My dad exclaimed "just give him a chance, I think he can walk". I was laughing so hard I was crying. Not to worry, we quickly put him out of his misery and removed the coat. I intend to cut out the front sleeves and leave it as a vest. He looked so cute and stylish though!
4.He is affectionate and loves unconditionally. One morning I woke up to him jumping onto my bed, stretching out beside me and resting his head on my pillow next to mine. Our noses touched and he gave me a kiss. It was lovely and just proved that he is the sweetest dog. He cries to be lifted onto your lap and loves lying next to you in bed under the covers. No matter what mistakes I may make he never judges me.
5.He is silly. Sometimes I can barely handle the faces he gives me. He can always put a smile on my face and makes me giggle. He runs, jumps and flops around without a care in the world.
6.He is always there. Or, in other words, he has no sense of privacy. He always seems to know when you are in the bathroom. I came out of the shower one night to find the door opening very, very slowly. The first thing I saw was his little nose peeking into the room and then emerged his head. He came into the bathroom, sat on the rug and stared at me. He has the cutest little eyes that seem to deeply penetrate into your soul. Then he glances away and looks at you sideways, almost as if to see if you are still looking at him or not.
7.He is loyal. He follows me around everywhere. Growls at strangers. He usually follows this by running away, but heck I like to think he would defend me if need be.
8.He is curious. He always seems interested in what I am doing. Right now I work from home and spend most of my day on my computer in my room. Periodically throughout the day he walks by to see that I am still there and returns to his bed. I like to think he is making sure I am still alive. He also loves to watch whatever is happening in the kitchen. His head turns side to side watching your every move. While he is likely waiting for food to be dropped on the floor I appreciate that he seems to care about what I am doing.
9.He is excited when I return home. He jumps up to look outside the window and greets me with so much enthusiasm that you would think I had been gone all week.
10.Lastly, he appreciates the simple things in life and demonstrates the joy of pure love <3
