This Video Of Taylor Swift Getting Turned Into A Zombie For Her Music Video Is Mesmerizing

Spoiler alert: There's a lot of makeup involved.

So, let's start with the sad news: The old Taylor Swift can't come to the phone right now, owing to the fact that she's dead. RIP!

In Taylor's "Look What You Made Me Do" video released last month, we see a ~zombified~ version of the pop star burying "Old Taylor" in a cemetery.

Swift rocks many different looks throughout that video, but Zombie Taylor is easily one of her most iconic.

So Taylor just released a behind-the-scenes peek at how she was transformed into the undead. It's a 30-second timelapse of the makeup process, and it's pretty mesmerizing:

She starts out looking like plain old Tay.

They apply a mask to change her facial structure.

Her whole body is covered with makeup — even her feet.

Her eyes are made slightly terrifying with contact lenses.

Her hands are slipped into some very creepy, translucent gloves with extra-long fingernails.

She even gets covered in green mossy stuff, to make it look like she's rotting.

Whether you're a big Taylor fan or just curious to see a little ~movie magic~, the video is definitely worth a watch. Here it is again:
