The "Friends" Cast Is Officially Reuniting, And Their Instagram Announcement Is Absolutely Perfect

I think it's safe to say it's happening.

IT'S HAPPENING.

After 16 years and approximately 1 billion BuzzFeed posts speculating about it, the cast of Friends is finally, actually, officially coming back together for an unscripted reunion special on HBO Max. For real!

And the cast announced the news in a rather epic fashion — they all posted the same photo on Instagram at the same time, all with the exact same caption: "It's happening."

The photo the cast chose to use for their bombshell announcement is from their 1995 Rolling Stone cover shoot. Jennifer Aniston shared the image, writing: "It's happening..."

David Schwimmer also confirmed the news: "It's happening."

Courteney Cox let her Instagram followers know that, yes, "It's happening..."

Matthew Perry posted on his brand-spankin'-new Instagram to confirm that "It's happening....."

Lisa Kudrow posted— Well, you get the idea by now...

And Matt LeBlanc trolled us all by posting "It's happening!!" alongside a photo of the cast of MASH.

Anyway, I think it's safe to say this reunion is HAPPENING.

It's worth noting that this special probably won't see the cast members returning to their iconic roles. It's an "unscripted" reunion, which presumably means the cast will be hanging out in Central Perk and sharing memories from their time on the show. Here's how HBO describes it:

Series stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will return to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank for a celebration of the beloved show.

Let's be honest — there's no possible way I could end this post without breaking out this iconic GIF:

IT'S HAPPENING.
