A skydiver in Peru had a terrifying experience recently when he became stuck on a plane during the jump and dangled for a half hour.
Fernando Gava's harrowing ordeal was captured by his friend, Maurice Mathey, who later posted it to Vimeo.
Mathey told BuzzFeed News that his friend works with computers, but is also a "very experienced jumper" who has skydived more than 1,000 times.
But when Gava jumped this time, his pant leg became stuck on a step. He then dangled upside down for about 30 minutes.
Finally, Gava was able to cut himself free with a knife. Mathey said that most experienced skydivers carry such a tool with them for emergencies such as these.
He then deployed his reserve parachute, and was able to land safely.
Miraculously, Mathey wrote that his friend's only injury was a cut on his hand from the knife.
