Top 10 VyRTs On VyRT - Um.. What The F#%k Is VyRT?

VyRT is Jared Leto's social media platform where artists can perform for and interact with fans from all over the world - in real time. This, my friends, is the future of music. Can't make it to a concert? Let VyRT bring the concert to you. Although much of the content on VyRT currently is 30 Seconds to Mars related, the platform is growing. As a VyRTer - I can't be more excited. The artists we've had featured in the past have been amazing, and we're all incredibly pumped for the future. Previously, VyRT has featured events from Gerard Way, Linkin Park, Greek Fire, Boy Epic, and even health and fitness guru, Brendan Brazier. I recently did a poll to determine the top 10 VyRTs on VyRT. So people, get ready to fill your vaults with the good stuff.

10. Greek Fire - January 22, 2015

This VyRT showcased how incredibly fun live VyRTs can be. The guys literally sat on a couch for a couple of hours, jammed some songs acoustically for us, and shot the shit with us. The guys were hysterical, we still talk about it today.

9. Boy Epic - Telling Secrets - May 10, 2015

This was the first installment of Boy Epic's new VyRT series. This episode gave us a bit of background on him and got us completely psyched about his big, bright and shiny future. Best part - he's bringing us along for the ride! This guy actually works non-stop and he pours his heart and soul into each song and video he does. Check out his song "Scars" - you'll get goosebumps. And if you don't, cause you're crazy or something, there's a piano version.

8. Edge of the Earth

Edge of The Earth doubles as a documentary that takes you through the making of their video for "A Beautiful Lie". However, it also discusses the effects that global warming, and society are having on our environment, specifically the glaciers. Its a good watch, if not only an eye-opening one.

7. Artifact

This documentary cleaned up in the awards department when in premiered in 2012. It details not only the $30 million lawsuit that was filed against 30 Seconds to Mars while they were making their third studio album, but also discusses the ins and outs of the music industry as a whole. Some of the details are pretty mind blowing. I recommend that everyone watch this - NOT just 30 Seconds to Mars fans.

6. Into The Wild - VyRT Series - premiered November 30, 2014

Where Artifact ended, Into The Wild began. The 17-episode series documented the record-breaking tour that followed the release of 30 Seconds to Mars' album This is War. This series wasn't a puff-piece by any means. It dug deep, and exposed us so many behind-the-scenes moments - good and bad. This series alone gave me more respect for these guys than I've had for any artist.

5. Mars 300 - December 7, 2011

This VyRT holds a special place in many VyRTers hearts for a couple reasons. First, it was the first ever VyRT. For that reason alone, history was made that night. However, it was also the night that 30 Seconds to Mars received their Guinness World Record for the Longest Concert Tour by a Rock Band. Can you guess how many shows? Actually it was 309, but who's counting? I mean, besides Guinness...

4. Mars MTV Unplugged

The first of two acoustic shows on this list! Mars Unplugged is 30 Seconds to Mara' award winning MTV special that originally aired on MTV on July 19, 2011. You know, from back when MTV actually played music.

3. Mars Lab I - April 27, 2012

There are 2 "Labs" available in the vault oh-so-appropriately titled "Mars Lab I and Mars Lab II, but Mars Lab I seems to be the favorite among VyRTers. I'm really not sure though if it is the string quartet, the monkey in Tomo's shirt, or Jared almost setting his kitchen on fire that does it though.... Check it out for yourself and let me know!

2. Hollywood Bowl - October 12, 2013

Filmed October 12, 2013 - This is an incredibly high energy show, with a bit a sentiment as it was a "homecoming" of sorts for the band, as well as a fulfilment of long sought after dream of theirs. *side note - this one was THE favorite among the Shannon fans*

1. Mars in Moscow - May 10, 2015

Shot in March, 2015 (note the short hair), this black & white beauty is one of the more recent additions to the collection. This intimate acoustic show took place in Moscow, Russia and features a bootless Jared performing a bevy of songs including a "reggae" rendition of "Conquistador". Which, if you've ever heard before - is one of the most "un-reggae" songs. Ever.
