18 Fictional Teachers All '00s Kids Wanted

Mr. Feeny may have ruled the '90s, but a bunch of teachers rocked the '00s.

1. Professor Remus Lupin — Harry Potter films

Warner Bros. Pictures / Via flowers-kid.com

Why You Wanted Him: He was a kick-ass Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Unlike many of Hogwarts' staff, he didn't betray his students. In fact, he fought beside them until the very end. Any teacher who'd give their life for their students is one hell of a person.

2. Dewey Finn (as Mr. Ned Schneebly) — School of Rock

Paramount Pictures / Via sundance.tv

Why You Wanted Him: Helloooooo? He taught the history of rock, thought math was "not important," and made kids listen to famous musicians as homework.

Best. Teacher. Ever.

3. Mr. Will Schuester — Glee

20th Television / Fox / Via whutzhappening.wordpress.com

Why You Wanted Him: Uh, he's smokin' hot. Plus, he actually believes in his students' abilities and talents. He's not just there to work from 9 to 5, but rather to develop real relationships with the kids. That's a true sign of a good teacher.

4. Señorita Rodriguez — That's So Raven

Disney / Via amal-pei2.blogspot.com

Why You Wanted Her: She was super sassy, and used that wit in her teaching style. Plus, she listened and danced to her Ricky Martin CD in class, so it really doesn't get any better than that.

5. Mr. Dig — Lizzie McGuire

Disney / Via video.disney.com

Why You Wanted Him: He was the best substitute teacher anyone could have. Ever. He didn't really believe in lesson plans, instead just seeing where the teaching took him. His laid-back attitude helped make learning 1000x less stressful.

6. Mr. Gullible — The Amanda Show

Nickelodeon / Via youtube.com

Why You Wanted Him: His name's kind of self-explanatory — he believed anything you said. He would let kids leave class 45 minutes early, simply because they told him that's what their teacher always let them do. Sign us up for his class!

7. Mrs. Puff — SpongeBob SquarePants

Nickelodeon / Via spongebob.wikia.com

Why You Wanted Her: First of all, her assignments weren't even that hard. An 800 word essay on what not to do at a stoplight? PU-LEASE. Also, whenever she got stressed or angry, she puffed up. Come on, you know that'd be super entertaining to watch.

8. Mr. Josh Nichols — Drake & Josh

Nickelodeon / Via teennick.com

Why You Wanted Him: Josh only taught his sister Megan's class for a week, and even though the kids didn't give him a fair chance, he would've made a really badass teacher. Just look at him here — he dressed up as Albert Einstein for a chemistry lesson. That's some dedication to the craft.

9. Ms. Sharon Norbury — Mean Girls

Paramount Pictures / Via netflix.com

Why You Wanted Her: She had a kind heart and encouraged her students to succeed. But more importantly, she was just as awkward as you, which made talking to her about serious things much easier. Plus, that button-covered vest was the ~epitome~ of style.

10. Mr. David Bender — Zoey 101

Nickelodeon / Via teennick.com

Why You Wanted Him: He was the awesome film and tech teacher at PCA, and was always insanely nice to Zoey and her friends. Remember when they went to the wrong beach to party, and he drove all the way out there to pick up them up? Yeah, he was a teacher students could actually count on in life.

11. Mr. Gibson — Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

Nickelodeon / Via musicpress94.wordpress.com

Why You Wanted Him: He's played by Art Alexakis, the lead singer of Everclear! Also, he didn't let Ned give up on music just because it's boring/hard when first starting out.

12. Ms. Winifred Fowl — The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

Nickelodeon / Via jimmyneutron.wikia.com

Why You Wanted Her: Sure, her voice was annoying at times, but she often fell asleep in class, so you could just up and leave if you wanted. Jimmy and his friends partied in Egypt, but you could've just gone home and watched TV in peace or something instead.

13. Mr. Francis Corelli — Hannah Montana

Disney / Via hannahmontana.wikia.com

Why You Wanted Him: He was always energetic and marched to the beat of his own weird drum. Although he veered off track in class sometimes, he still made learning a fun experience. He taught his students that Shakespeare "knew how to pick up chicks." Naturally.

14. Coach Terry Tugnut — Even Stevens

Disney / Via hotflick.net

Why You Wanted Him: Sure, he was tough on Louis, but you're not Louis, so who cares? He loved to eat, which is something anyone can appreciate. Basically, he tried to be a hard-ass, but was really just a big goofball.

15. Mrs. Tanya Baxter — That's So Raven

Disney / Via youtube.com

Why You Wanted Her: Although she briefly subbed as Raven's English teacher, she was fantastic at it! Remember that random impromptu rap she did about Romeo and Juliet? Why wouldn't you want a teacher like that in your life?

16. Mr. Kwest — Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

Nickelodeon / Via ned.wikia.com

Why You Wanted Him: For starters, he was super chill. He monitored the Gamers Club, and used Dungeons & Dragons-like dice to decide how long students would be banished from the computer lab. Of course, it's not like he was super strict about the whole thing, though.

17. Ms. Darbus — High School Musical films

Disney / Via sothisiswalcott.blogspot.com

Why You Wanted Her: She might have been slightly insane, but it was hard not to like her. She was extremely passionate about her craft, and generally wanted to work. She told it like it was, and gave Troy his shot at being a singer. Remember, it's pronouced "mu-sigh-CAL" not "mu-sigh-cull," apparently.

18. And, Professor Minerva McGonagall — Harry Potter films

Warner Bros. Pictures / Via harrypotter.wikia.com

Why You Wanted Her: She never put up with any crap, and always wanted students to fight for what was right. Her adoration and protection of Harry and his friends was just one of the many examples as to why she was a phenomenal teacher.
