During his nearly seven-minute remarks about the Stanley Cup champion Bruins [team stats] yesterday in front of the crowded White House East Room, President Barack Obama mentioned several players by name.
One was Marchand, standing with his teammates, coaches and bosses on some low stands just behind Obama and the Stanley Cup. Among those on hand were ex-Bruins Mark Recchi, Shane Hnidy and Tomas Kaberle.
