This TV Show Normalises Marriage Between A 10-Year-Old Boy And An 18-Year-Old Woman

In an upcoming TV show titled Pehredaar Piya Ki (Lover's Security Guard), 25-year-old actress Tejaswi Prakash plays an 18-year-old Indian princess, Diya.

Starring alongside Prakash is her 10-year-old co-star Afaan Khan, as her husband Prince Ratan Singh.

The promo attempts to normalise the hell out of what obviously is an intensely cringeworthy cross-generational "romance" wherein a young adult is quite illegally married to a child.

The 10-year-old kid is shown charming his much older wife and I CAN'T DIRECTLY LOOK AT IT.

Even though the promo has a disclaimer stating, "This show doesn't endorse child marriage in any way whatsoever," it's still a positive depiction of an age-inappropriate romance which IMHO should have been scrapped. We don't need this, it's 2017 and I'm really uncomfortable.
