    Pie's The Limit

There’s a lot of meat when it comes to pie puns and we do love dishing out a pun at Square Meal. We also love pie. So, to celebrate British Pie Week (2-8 March), the Square Meal team has been living the life of pie to come up with their favourite purveyors of the pastry- (or potato-) topped wonder.

    Sweetie pie: Chicken Shop

More than meets the pie: Cookes Pie and Mash

More than meets the pie: Hannah Walley, sales director, Square Meal Venues & Events

'Keep it simple with classic pie and mash and the obligatory formica table tops at Cookes Pie & Mash'

Living the pie life: Putney Pies

Living the pie life: Paul Young, marketing manager, Square Meal

'Putney Pies!!! [yes, he included three exclamation marks] Big portions, very meaty and lots of sides to choose from, too. Plus a massive British craft beer list to wash it all down with.'

    Pie-high: J Sheekey

    Low-pie: McDonald’s

Low-pie: Adam Wyartt, account director, Square Meal

'A guilty pleasure… McDonald's apple pie still rocks my world!'

    Twitter: @adswyartt

    Life of pie: Cinnamon Soho

    Pie spy: Browns in Oxford

Pie spy: Simon White, managing director

'Browns in Oxford used to be my place for chicken pie.'

Pretty pie for a pudding guy: Magdalen Arms in Oxford

Pretty pie for a pudding guy: Ben McCormack, editor, Square Meal

'Personally I prefer a suet pudding to a pie – Rules' steak and kidney pudding is the best – but the steak pie at the Magdalen Arms in Oxford has so much suet in its pastry that it practically qualifies. This is the pie of your dreams – golden crust; beery gravy; hunky, chunky beef – and worthy of a gastronomic pilgrimage from London.'

    Pi = 3.14: The Grapes

    Desperate Dan: The Parlour
