15 Times Ross Geller Was Actually The Greatest "Friend"

1. When he remembered.

Rachel saw a pin in a store window that reminded her of the one her grandmother used to have. He got her a gift she didn't want to return.

2. When he helped his ex-wife get married.

Carol's parents disapproved of her marriage to Susan. Ross made sure to tell her that it didn't matter as long as she loved her. He even walked her down the aisle.

3. When he tried to make a little girl's dream come true.

He accidentally broke her leg, but he became an honorary brown bird in order to help her sell the most cookies. He didn't do that, but he created "Sarah Tuttle's Private Space Camp."

4. When he was going to be Rachel's knight in shining armor.

Rachel's date hadn't shown up to take her to prom, so she wasn't going to go. Ross dressed up in his dad's tux, ready to make sure she didn't miss it.

5. When he made Phoebe's childhood dream come true.

Phoebe mentioned never having had a bike as a child. He got her the one she described, and helped her learn to ride it.

6. When he gave up the Discovery Channel for Rachel.

He was dressed to impress in order to discuss fossils found in Peru for a D.C. special. When Rachel got hurt, he passed it up to help get her go to the hospital.

7. When he set aside his feelings so that Joey could pursue Rachel.

He rightly felt uneasy about one his best friends wanting to date his ex-girlfriend, the same girl he'd liked since high school who was also carrying his baby at the time.

8. When he wouldn't date.

Rachel irrationally told him that she was jealous and didn't want him to date her or anyone else. Ross put her needs above his, promising to be at her beck and call.

9. When he was very self-aware.

Their dad used Monica's boxes to protect his Porsche from water, leaves and gook and stuff. He put together some boxes for her, trying to make sure she didn't find out, because he knew it would hurt her feelings.

Ross was by no means perfect. He was jealous and insecure, but more often than not, he meant well. Also, not acceptable to defend Chandler and disparage Ross when he kissed his best friend's girlfriend, called Monica (and other girls) fat on multiple occasions, and attempted to abandon Monica on their wedding day. Not saying Ross is better in comparison, but they all made mistakes.

Not to mention, Ross could make fajitas, he practiced dance karate (a deadly but beautiful sport), and he was a proud paleontologist, despite the fact that his last two papers had been widely discredited. And it could have been worse, he could've be a geologist.

Plus, they were on a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!
