    Using Mini Storage In Arizona

Many college students embrace renting at self-storage facilities while they're on breaks from school and back to living at home with their parents. If you or your child need to store furniture in downtime between semesters, it's good to know the best way to approach renting a storage unit.

First, you should decide how large the rental unit needs to be to contain your student's belongings. If you know the number of boxes and pieces of furniture that you'll need to store, use a storage calculator. You can enter all your information and the calculator will let you know what size unit to rent. It even lets you print out packing labels for your boxes.

Once you have an idea of the unit size you need, you should look into different facilities. A storage facility listing site will give you a good idea of the places that are closest to you. Make a list of four to five, and go visit them if you have time. Check that the facility is clean and neat, and that driveways and walkways are clear. Ask about the facility's security measures: are the units fenced in? How do tenants access their units? Are there any security cameras in place?

Some mini storage facilities have other amenities like a store where you can purchase packing supplies, charity drop-offs or on-site managers (managers who live on the property and maintain it – more common in 24-hour-access facilities).

When you're ready to move in, make sure you've corralled a good number of packing supplies like tape, paper, bubble wrap and boxes. Pack your boxes so that the tops are flat: they shouldn't bulge or buckle, so that they'll stack easily.

Pack up your unit and pat yourself on the back – you're now a proud storage unit renter!
