1. So it all begins with the first few pages of that new book all your fandom friends have been raving about, or that first episode of that show on netflix that looked "kinda good"
2. Then a few chapters/ episodes in, you decide this book or show is actually pretty fab
3. Then you're totally hooked, whether its halfway through the season or through the book. You get that feeling that you just know that this book/series is definitely just made for you
4. You begin to make special and sacred bonds with the characters, so much so that you value their safety more than your own
5. So then you are firmly attached to this otp and you can't live without them
6. Then inevitably tragedy strikes, and the worse possible thing that could have happened to your favourite character or OTP happens, and you're #DEAD
7. After finishing the said book or series, you are left drowning in a sea of your own emotions
8. Soon you find the fanpages and blogs on tumblr and instagram and then you can basically say goodbye the your old life because fandoms are you life now
9. Then, you stumble into the darkest part of the fandom.. fanfiction, that's when you know you are totally done for.
10. Soon you begin to make friends through your love for this fandom, whether IRL or online
