You should take a trip to Big Sur! Known for hiking, camping, and basically any outdoor activity that allows you to take in the beauty of the area, this is the perfect route for you! This gorgeous town is on the California coast, and makes for a peaceful escape into nature. Take the Pacific Coast Highway for maximum scenic views.

The San Juan Skyway both starts and ends in Durango, and is perfect for a scenic daytime drive. Durango also has a ski resort and a railway, so you have several ways to take in the spectacular view.
