Royal Holloway Does It Again With Latest Elections!

Two years on, it is great to see the creative juices are in full flow during the sabbatical elections at Royal Holloway as candidate pulls off Jason Derulo cover!

In 2015 newly elected Co-President Sports & Development, Alex Reilly was the victim of 'face-jack' as someone post this status.

After someone wrote a status on Alex Reilly's facebook stating that if the status got 50 likes and he "decided to re-run, his re-election video will be a remake of Jason Derulo's 'Talk Dirty to Me'" very few probably thought he would do it.

They were wrong.

Online campaigning began on Friday, 4th March and at 4pm the same day his campaign video goes live!

Strength in numbers!

Perhaps the smartest thing about the video is that it is in the 3rd person, with over 35 different students 'singing' about Alex's achievements in his year as Co-President Sports & Development as well as what he aims to do if elected for the new role of President Education & Campaigns. Rather than just being a video containing himself and a few others, Alex chooses to have a 'who's who' of Royal Holloway telling you to vote for him!

Cheeky yet genius

The original version of the song has a line that ends with 'penis.' Rather than change this, Reilly comes up with the very tongue in cheek, yet very clever and engaging, line of "Stress with exams, hell we need more P.E.N.I.S!" The video then stops with a voice over explaining that penis actually stands for "Post Exam Non-Intensive Sport" - brilliant.
