This MP Sketched Jeremy Corbyn During His First Prime Minister's Questions

Deputy Labour leader Tom Watson also got the treatment, because apparently he’s very “sketchable”.

Conservative MP Charlotte Leslie spent Jeremy Corbyn’s first Prime Minister’s Questions doing a sketch of the new Labour leader.

Corbyn's deputy leader, Tom Watson, also got the Leslie treatment during the session, which saw Corbyn put questions from the public to David Cameron.

Watson just looked "irresistibly sketchable", the Conservative MP for Bristol North West told BuzzFeed News.

Leslie said she draws sketches in the same way that others keep a diary. She keeps all her sketches in a drawer in her parliamentary office.

"Sketching helps me think, and debates can go on quite long sometimes," she said. "Instead of just wasting the time and listening and having nothing to show for it, sometimes I draw a little sketch."

Leslie doesn't always draw sketches during Prime Minister's Questions but said that Wednesday – Jeremy Corbyn's first PMQs as opposition leader – felt significant.

"Coming from the backbenches with something no one has been saying in mainstream politics for really quite a long time – the fact that someone has done that is significant and historic," she said.

Leslie added: "For me, it's a significant thing that Jeremy Corbyn's done. I wanted to record the moment for myself."

The sketches have gone down well, with the exciting prospect of a parliamentary sketch collection being put together.

Leslie told BuzzFeed News she’s auctioning the artwork, with the proceeds going to the Southmead Project, a charity which helps victims of trauma and abuse.

Well if anyone wants these scrappy bits of sketchy paper, they'll go to the hugest bidder, £ going to @CycleofHarm ! https://t.co/IPqLrpeAax
