30 Reasons Not To Use The R-Word

In honor of r-word day, Best Buddies Columbia University spread awareness of the hurtful and derogatory nature of the r-word ("retard" or "retarded"). CU Students pledged to end their use of the word and to promote a community that is inclusive of individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Here are thirty of their powerful reasons for taking the pledge.
