All The Things Stan Lee Has Pretended To Be In His Marvel Cameos
How many do you remember?
In case you didn't know, Stan Lee — the creator of practically every superhero character in the history of ever — makes cameos in just about all of the movies based off his comics. There have been a ton, so here are all the ones just from this past decade:
1. Iron Man (2008)
He played a Hugh Hefner look-a-like.
2. The Incredible Hulk (2008)
He played a Milwaukee resident who suffers from gamma radiation poisoning.
3. Iron Man 2 (2010)
He played a Larry King look-a-like.
4. Thor (2011)
He was a truck driver.
5. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
He played an Army general.
6. The Avengers (2012)
He was a news interviewee playing chess.
7. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012, aka the Andrew Garfield one)
He played a librarian.
8. Iron Man 3 (2013)
He played a beauty pageant judge.
9. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
He was a patient in a mental hospital.
10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
He played a security guard at the Smithsonian.
11. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014, aka still the Andrew Garfield one)
He was a guest at the high school graduation.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
He played a ~casanova~ on the planet Xandar. (Fun Fact: He was originally supposed to be part of the Collector's museum.)
13. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
He was a drunk veteran. (Fun fact: He's said that this is his favorite cameo!)
14. Ant-Man (2015)
He played a bartender.
15. Deadpool (2016)
He played a DJ at a strip club.
16. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
He was a Fed-Ex delivery man.
17. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
He played a citiizen watching a nuclear missile launch, alongside his IRL wife, Joan.
18. Doctor Strange (2016)
He was a citizen riding the bus reading The Doors of Perception. (Fun fact: They actually filmed three different cameos for this movie.)
19. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
He was an informant for the Watchers. (Fun fact: Marvel president Kevin Fiege and Guardians director James Gunn revealed that this particular cameo is a nod to the fan theory that all of Lee's cameos are the same character — Uatu the Watcher, an alien tasked with observing Earth and the universe.)
20. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
He was the barber that chopped of Thor's luscious locks.
21. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017, aka the Tom Holland one)
He played Gary, a man who chastises Spider-Man for making a raucous.
22. Black Panther (2018)
Ok, this movie is technically still in theaters so I can't show you the ~exact scene~ Stan Lee is in. But, he played a gambler in the South Korean casino who has the gall to steal T'Challa's chips! Just use your imagination and pretend he's in the background wearing a snazzy suit.
23. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
He played a bus driver. (Alright, alright, you got me. This photo is from his cameo in Season 1 of Heroes. But, you get the idea.)
Stan makes a habit of filming a lot of cameos all at once, so make sure to keep an eye out for him the next time a superhero hits the big screen!
