Yesterday, on Jan. 6, thousands of MAGA rioters and Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in Washington, DC to attempt a coup against the free and fair election of Joe Biden as president of the United States. It was a direct attack on US democracy that left four people dead.
And it appears that the police and security in charge of protecting the Capitol actually made it pretty easy for the attack to transpire. One might say they just...LET IT HAPPEN:
The police opened the gates and simply let the protesters in.
And because Twitter is Twitter, people quickly started pointing out the things they've experienced that are harder than storming the Capitol, and TBH, I can't see any lies. Here are a few things more difficult than getting past the police at the Capitol while attempting a coup of the US government:
1. Cutting the line to get into Trader Joe's:
It’s harder to get in a Trader Joe’s during a pandemic than it is the capitol
2. Getting Juul pods at the gas station:

3. Getting ahold of someone with closed DMs:

4. Grabbing a rotisserie chicken at Costco without a membership card:
Harder to get into Costco w/out that lil club card then the Capitol
5. Ditto on Sam's Club:
damn it’s harder to get into Sam’s Club than the capital🤕
6. Accessing the student portal on the day you have to sign up for classes:
Apparently it’s harder to get the classes u need at college than it is to get into the captial
7. Breaking into those password journals we all had in the early 2000s:
these password journals were harder to get into than it was for the terrorists to get into the capitol building
8. Getting into USC...even if your parents commit application fraud:
it was harder for olivia jade to get into usc than it was to get into the capitol
9. Convincing the bouncer your ID isn't a fake on a Friday night:
It’s harder to get into a club in LA than it is to get into the US Capitol
10. Buying a razor to shave your legs at the pharmacy:
Still sort of reeling that it was easier to get into the Capitol than the razor shelf at Rite Aid
11. Trying to sneak some liquid through airport security:
It’s harder to get through TSA with a water bottle than to break into the capitol building! Smh
12. Buying baby formula from this aisle at Walmart:
HARDER TO GET SOME BABY FORMULA FROM WALMART THAN TO GET INTO THE CAPITOL BUILDING!!!!

15. Resuscitating your precious Neopets:

16. Ordering a coveted Popeye's chicken sandwich:
Nah cuz it was harder to get into Popeyes when they debuted their chicken sandwich than the Capitol
17. And finally, visiting the the US Capitol on a FIELD TRIP:
The Capitol had more security on my DC field trip than it did yesterday during a planned raid/attack.
