    There Might Be A Cure For Cancer

    Human clinical trials begin in 2014.

    There is a protein called CD47, which typically tells the body not to destroy the cancer cells. A group of Stanford scientists have discovered an antibody that overrides CD47 and allows macrophages (immune cells) to hunt down and engulf cancer cells.

    The macrophages turn the cancer cells over to the "killer T" cells in our bodies. These cells eat up cancer.

    Yea, it is pretty badass.

    Scientists plan on starting human clinical trials in 2014. Hopefully, this works well and we can see some serious progress on fighting cancer.
