29 Problems You Experience When You’re An Overly-Enthusiastic Person

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!

1. You often get asked if you're drunk.

2. So often, that you get kicked out of clubs because the bouncer thinks you've had one too many.

3. People think you're sarcastic when you're not.

4. Or they mistake your peppiness for arrogance.

5. You're frequently told that you're too ~full on~.

6. People are always telling you to "tone it down".

7. Or they ask if you have an "off switch".

8. You have tried to bottle up your enthusiasm.

9. But when you do, it bursts out at the worst possible moments.

10. You've tried wearing neutral colours or softening your make-up to compensate for your expressive face.

11. You get tired when you have to be reserved.

12. People sometime envy how easily you make friends.

13. But you know it's that you talk with so many people that the law of averages just works in your favour.

14. Because your enthusiasm seems almost childlike, people think you're naive.

15. You're always being asked to justify your enthusiasm about something...

16. ...like being enthusiastic and positive is a bad thing.

17. So the older you get, the more you learn to control your powers of enthusiasm in public.

18. Many people believe you have the emotional range of a really peppy teaspoon.

19. But just because you're enthusiastic doesn't mean you're loud or one-dimensional.

20. You still have moments of introversion like anyone else.

21. But when you do have a quiet moment, people always ask what's wrong with you.

22. People tell you that you remind them of Leslie Knope...

23. ...but they don't mean it as a compliment.

24. In fact, some people think your chipper outlook on life is all an act.

25. And they're convinced you're covering up some deeper darker truth about yourself.

26. Some people say that just looking at you exhausts them.

27. And others tell you they find your pep frightening all together.

28. When you find someone else who's just as enthused as you, you're equal parts excited and terrified.

29. But most of all, you just don't understand why enthusiastic people get such a bad rap.
