I Know You’re Obsessed With "Red, White & Royal Blue," So Here Are 14 Moments From The Movie That I'm Honestly Never Gonna Get Over

Red, White and Royal Blue finally made it to our TV screens last week, and let me tell you, I am OBSESSED. I read this book two years ago, and oh was it worth the wait.

Without further ado, here are 14 moments from the movie that I just can't get out of my head:

1. That flirty call

The cartoon butterflies made this all feel very Heartstopper-y, but I was absolutely here for it. Alex and Henry are talking via phone, but thanks to a bit of ~movie magic~ we get our first glimpse of the future couple, lying in bed together, playfully mocking each other.

2. Alex's NYE Party

This stuck with me for all the wrong reasons – have you ever seen such blatant heartbreak? I could have cried for Henry, watching the man he's been pining over for literally years kissing someone else right in front of him.

3. Their FIRST KISS!

Clearly I was not the only one feeling some kinda way about this. Alex following Henry into the garden. The two of them alone, snow on the ground, under the New Year's fireworks. Well, it was clearly only going to go one way...

4. Their second kiss...

OK look, this is not just a list of every time they kissed, but would you really complain if it was?

The audacity to leave Alex on read? Boy, did I have to pull it together and find some patience until Henry made a return, but my god was it worth it. The best part: arguably the spiciest kiss in the whole move is completely overshadowed by their reaction to getting caught.

Way to play it cool...

5. This look

I'm fairly sure I can't legally show you what happened next...just know it's pretty raunchy. Just this GIF of Henry leaving Alex's bedroom tells you all you need to know.

To quote someone I follow on TikTok, "Not to be all dramatic, but this is the hottest look anyone has given in all of cinematic history."

6. I just can't even here

I'm sorry but this one line annihilated me. The look he gives Alex... 💀. He might be "Prince of England's Hearts," but he is also King of the f me eyes.

It gets even spicier after this moment, but if I couldn’t show you that first scene, I definitely can’t show you this. Just know that it was perfect and you should go and watch the movie if you want to know more.

7. Good morning

8. Karaoke time!

Henry being drunk and having fun for once, Alex catching his kiss...I have nothing more to say.

9. Heartbreak in Texas

So, things get a little sad for a while, but bear with me...

This scene had some serious Call Me by Your Name vibes, and while it looked beautiful, Henry is going through A LOT here. Alex is confessing his undying love, completely oblivious to it all. Infuriating.

So Henry does the only rational thing: dives into the water, disappears in the middle of the night, and leaves us all...not least Alex...with a lot of questions.

Why use words when you can run 5,000 miles away from your problem? Infuriating. I could have been saved a lot of angst.

10. Kensington Palace

I honestly don't know where to begin with this scene. How do you fit so much into one GIF? Alex storming Kensington Palace in the rain, Henry crying. Every line punches you in the gut. “I can love you and want you and still not want that life”.

I’m not crying, you are.

11. The V&A Museum

Sneaking in to the V&A at the dead of night to slow dance. Who said romance was dead? I’m not sure my body will ever recover from Henry telling Alex, "When they write the history of my life, I want it to include you and my love for you."

There may have been more tears. This is also a good time to point out that the soundtrack to this movie is incredible.

12. Baby…

There we all were thinking it was back to happy times, but no...now the press has found out and their relationship has been shared with the world while they're thousands of miles apart.

This moment when they were finally able to speak after being prevented from talking for so long...have you ever seen someone looked so relieved to hear their partner's voice?

13. That moment on the stairs

Of every shot in the movie, this one hit me the hardest. The relief at being together, the pain of what they're going through, all portrayed in one hug?

When Alex is on his way and he tells Henry, "I'll break the sound barrier for you" – look, I know it's cheesy and technically impossible on commercial aviation, but let's just embrace it.

14. And THE BALCONY!

The love conquers all moment we've been waiting for. Henry finally living and saying, "I will no longer be the prince of shame, of secrets;" the two of them finally getting a proper I love you; their joy at the overwhelming support from the public. It's just perfect. This may well have been a third teary-eyed moment.

Is it cheesy...yes. Is the movie all the better for it...also yes.
