30 Things College-Aged Girls Might Do, Or Might Not Do (Because Everyone Is Different)

The lists people post on Facebook about ‘girls do this’ and ‘girls do that’, ‘advice for girls’, ‘advice for girls about guys’, ‘what every little girl should know about being a girl’, etc, etc, are getting out of hand. I, for one, am incredibly done with it. Here are some of my own ideas of things society things are primarily ‘masculine’ things that, as it turns out, are simply people things, that heavily depend on your own individual personality. Contrarily, many guys face the same problem, where they do things that are supposedly ‘feminine’. We face over-generalizations of the genders every day and many lists on Buzzfeed only reinforce them. Here is my feminist take on a ‘Things’ List. Enjoy.

1.Take short showers.

2.Take 15 minutes to get ready to go out.

3.Have a clean driving record.

4.Like action movies over romance movies.

5.Take an interest in cars

6.Take an interest in electronics

7.Suck at cooking

8.Drink beer/whiskey/bourbon/other "masculine" drinks

9.Eat whatever the hell they want, including garbage plates, cheeseburgers, pizza, steak, wings, etc

10.Not use Pinterest to plan out their wedding before they even have a serious boyfriend

11.Don't know how to do hair for shit

12.Don't know how to do makeup/rarely wear makeup

13.Enjoy sex

14.Use guys for sex and never speak to them again

15.Do keg-stands or other binge-drinking activities because they want to, not to impress guys

16.Burp

17.Pass gas

18.Pay for their own dinner

19. Enjoy sports like football and genuinely follow their teams seasons

20.Play sports, and are good at playing said sports, and do more than the treadmill at the gym

21.Wear whatever the hell they want

22.Pick up clothes off the floor, and sniff them to see if they're clean before they wear them

23.Never clean their rooms

24.Never clean the kitchen or the living room or bathroom because they hate cleaning

25.Suck at expressing their emotions

26.Don't overthink things

27.Have guy friends they want to sleep with, and guy friends they don't want to sleep with.

28.Do stupid things (see 15)

29.Have a sense of adventure

30.DO WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT, THINK WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT, AND ACT HOWEVER THE HELL THEY WANT
