James Corden Has Responded To The Criticism Of Him Kissing Sean Spicer At The Emmys

"Understandably, some people have been disappointed by this photo. In truth, I am disappointed by it as well. I’ve been reading a lot of harsh comments on Twitter today and I hear you loud and clear. Truly I do."

So on Sunday night, Sean Spicer took part in a skit at the Emmys and joked: "This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmys, PERIOD, both in person and around the world."

While some people laughed at the joke, which parodied Spicer's comments on the inauguration of Donald Trump, others thought having him on was an ill-advised decision.

And quite a few people were not happy to see that either.

Man. The vitriol that was sent towards Fallon for messing up Trump's hair. Wait, Corden did what?

It also became a bit of a meme.

On Monday's Late Late Show, Corden addressed the photo in his monologue, at first in a series of jokes:

And then, a bit more seriously.

The segment has not yet been uploaded to YouTube, but you can watch the monologue on the CBS Website.
