12 Questions That Won't Be Ever Be Answered In "Broadchurch"

Such as: Why do they always meet on the beach? Note: This post contains spoilers.

Broadchurch can be a really gripping show, but there are some questions that need to be answered.

    1. Why does everyone have such good phone signal?

Truth: When you call near the coast either you have no signal, or the person you are ringing has no signal.

"Welcome to the O2 messaging service. The person you are calling is unable to take your call. Please leave your message after the tone. If you need to rerecord..."

    2. Why do all of the characters meet up on on the beach to talk about the latest plot developments?

Wouldn't Caffè Nero be more convenient?

    3. Why does everyone have such old phones?

This is DI Alec Hardy's (*cough* David Tennant *cough*) phone. It is a BlackBerry. He must be one of the only people left in the country who have BlackBerrys.

    4. Why does *everyone* have a complicated past?

The only straightforward character was the policeman who only drank tea and ate biscuits the whole time.

He was there in the first series to help support the Latimer family.

    5. What did he do but drink tea and eat biscuits?

Kudos Film and Television / Shine Group / ITV

This was literally the only thing he ever said.

The answer to this is "NO".

Correction: He once ate toast in the kitchen.

    No biscuits were there.

    6. Why are there no other people in this town?

Like, seriously. Look at the background of all the scenes.

Literally. 12. People. Live. In. This. Town.

    7. And if no other people live there, why is there a local newspaper proudly serving a town of 12 people?

    8. And why does everyone watch ITV News?

    9. I mean, ITV News is GREAT, but have all of the characters lost the remote or something?

Kudos Film and Television / Shine Group / ITV

    This is very important.

    10. Also, Susan Wright (Pauline Quirke) was in the first series but weirdly she's not there in series two.

Mark Latimer (Andrew Buchan) and Tom Miller (Adam Wilson) are now hanging out in her caravan, after she left the keys. This leads to another important question:

Who is paying for the caravan's electricity bill?

    ITV / Broadchurch

Of course, this question is solved if Susan Wright is paying by monthly direct debit.

    11. And why is the music throughout really tense?

(Listen to the Vine by unclicking the mute button and you'll see what I mean.)

Everything would be less stressful if they did this.

    12. Finally, there is this very important question about a very significant aspect of the new series.
