50 Moments That Remind You Why The 1994 Royal Rumble Was The Best One In WWE History

We are officially on the cusp of the Royal Rumble, which is arguably the best PPV of the year. The 2016 WWE Royal Rumble has nostalgia written all over it, as the last time the title was up for grabs in the Rumble match itself was 1992! The truth of the matter though, is that this year's Royal Rumble probably won't hold a candle to the Rumble we all witnessed in 1994, some 22 years ago. Here are 50 moments that will take you back and remind you why.

50. Live from the Providence Civic Center!!!

Via WWE Network

Providence truly shined her light upon us as Vince announced that the 1994 Royal Rumble was finally here! The Civic Center was rockin'! WWE Fans around the globe were about to witness the best Royal Rumble in WWE History!

49. Vince McMahon

Via WWE Network

The atmosphere was thick in Providence Rhode Island the night of the 1994 Royal Rumble. Vince McMahon was all in for this PPV. I don't know if I've ever been more pumped up to watch a PPV than the 1994 Royal Rumble, especially with the way Vince called the action as the night unfolded!

47. Bret & Owen Hart's Nips during Promo

Via WWE Network

Perhaps the cheesiest most fake promo of all time occurred right before Bret & Owen Hart's Tag Team Championship match vs. The Quebecers, but it was CLASSIC 90's WWE, making the audience think that things were just dandy between the Hart Brothers, until, the match of course. One thing is for sure though, the Hart brothers love giving their nipples camera time.

46. Classic Heel Owen

Via WWE Network

Owen Hart's heel turn on his brother Bret was perfect. In a post interview Owen said "That's why I kicked your leg outta your leg". I think he meant to say I kicked your leg out from under you. The heel turn was inevitable and it was classic heel Owen. I AM NOT A NUGGET!

45. Razor's Edge on IRS

Via WWE Network

Shawn Michaels interfered in this match, hitting Razor Ramon with a phony belt. The refs were too good in this one though, and they got it right, which allowed Razor to give IRS the Razor's Edge and retain the title. I would be remiss if I didn't give IRS credit for telling Providence Rhode Island that they better pay their taxes.

44. The Undertaker/Yokozuna Match Promo(s)

Via WWE Network

Arguably the best promo set in all of WWE history. The Undertaker and Paul Bearer put together quite an incredible set of promos to scare the diaper off of Yokozuna. The creepiness of the casket construction to the cold winter sounds in the background made the anticipation of this casket match just that much better. As a 9 year old boy this scared the bajeezus out of me.

38. Green smoke bellows from Undertaker's urn

Via WWE Network

Wow. Something about this green smoke pouring out of this urn that just made for such a creepy and mysterious addition to the events of this match. Vince's commentary was incredible, as he sounded scared as can be.

35. Electric Undertaker

Via WWE Network

By now youngsters watching this PPV were terrified as the Undertaker's "soul" rose up from the "JumboTron". Again Vince was stunned and this was by far the best segway into a rumble match we will ever see.

28. The Casio Countdown Clock

Via WWE Network

You have to love the fact that the Royal Rumble countdown clock is sponsored by Casio. Definitely makes a little more sense than Stridex sponsoring Summerslam.

6. Jack Tunney gets word that there is some confusion ensuing down at ringside and arrives to the scene of the most incredible ending to any Pay Per View in WWE history to declare a winner of the 1994 Royal Rumble

1. The Fink announces that Bret Hart & Lex Luger are declared the WINNERS of the 1994 Royal Rumble!!!

Via WWE Network

Hart & Luger would go on to both face Yokozuna for the championship at Wrestlemania X, which is another classic pay per view from 1994. To say this Rumble was "one for the ages" doesn't even do it proper justice. We can only hope that there will be another Royal Rumble of this caliber, but it is highly doubtful.
