    A ‘Fun’ Look At Fracking

By Mark Williams, Journalist at GreenHub

Would you say fracking has been a major concern lately?

All over the world it seems to be a hot topic that is causing a great deal of debate; supporters of both sides of the issue have become extremely passionate and vocal recently.

In the news not too long ago, there was much talk of the fracking protests in Wrexham, North Wales; the fallout from these protests is still being resolved even now.

Being so close to where I was born and bred, this has really made the subject a concern to me personally; thus I have determined to read up as much as I can about fracking in the UK and worldwide.

One thing I read that has severely grated on me, was David Cameron's strong words on the matter.

Not only is he a strong supporter of extracting shale gas but this is going to be done in total disregard to landowners wishes; plans already have been put in place to remove their rights to prevent fracking on their land!

    That's pretty disgusting isn't it?!

Tom Greatrex MP, Labour's Shadow Minister, is quoted saying, "Despite clear flaws in the existing framework, David Cameron's government has repeatedly side lined legitimate environmental concern and seem prepared to accept shale gas at any cost."

Clearly then others are pretty appalled at the direction he's taking!

Producing enough energy for the Earth's population is, of course, vitally important; there has to be, however, a better solution to this global problem.

Hasn't the planet been damaged enough from our plundering it's limited, natural resources?!

Given that you're reading this blog, I'm sure you are concerned with protecting our environment and producing clean energy?

Making sure then that we all are clued up when it comes to this issue, is becoming increasingly important!
