Struggles Only Pauline Kim Understands

A few daily occurrences known only to our fave Korean Po

1. When people call her out on participating in stereotypical Korean activities

"Yes, Im eating Asian ramen and making a powerpoint on Fung Shui WHAT ELSE DO YOU EXPECT FROM ME????"

2. Constantly trying to avoid her friend's requests to hang because she isnt in the mood

Po: "I can't, I have to get ready for Katy's birthday"

Mesa: "Po thats at 7...its 3:30 right now"

"Oh...well...I have a meeting actually too"

3. Regularly misplacing her Student ID

"Where is my freaking ID I know it was here like 2 seconds ago-ugh is it under this sweater -DAMN IT!!!"

4. Wearing heels on the regular, but then as a result almost breaking her ankle or stepping in large puddles

(But its worth it because her outfits are always on point)

5. Accidentally falling asleep at random times and then realizing praise team started 30 minutes ago

"OHMYGOD how did this happen I literally was going to nap for 15 minutes!!!?"

6. Everyone and their mom wanting to go to PHO with her at the same time.

"Raise your hand if you want to go to Pho!"

7. People constantly inquiring on her family background, place of birth, and first language.

"Well I was born here in Colorado, but then in 8th grade I moved to Korea for high school, but my parents still live there, but my sister lives here. Well my other sister, that one's still in Korea. Ugh never mind."

8. Always being the "exotic minority" in her friend group. (unless Sarah is there too)

9. Being forced to take 8ams and then sleeping through her alarm

10. Doing things she doesn't really want to do because she is so sweet and respectful

*2am* Of course I'd love to pick you up from the club in my non-existent car!

11. The whole school finding out that she hasnt turned in her Worldview's paper yet and constantly asking if she's finished yet.

*Texts to Sarah* "Is Po done with her paper yet?"

12. Never having consistently functioning electronics.

"Yeah I have a blackberry now."

"I thought you had an Android?"

"Oh I lost that one..but I got an Iphone that worked until two weeks ago.."

13. Being clumsy and bumping into things, dropping things, etc.

14. People confusing her for Professor Kim's daughter (who strangely is also named Pauline Kim)

15. Hearing things like "Im sure youre parents wont mind" or "Just beg them!"

"Are you aware that my father is a Korean pastor????"
