The Carolinian Creed is easy to follow, really! The five main tenets of the Carolinian Creed represent five pretty powerful and pervasive ideas: Integrity, Acceptance, Respect, Leadership, and Compassion. Here are five easy ways to remember them!

1. Integrity

Practicing Integrity is all about being true to yourself and your values. Maybe you're a panda, but you got caught in a wite-out explosion! Yeah, your fur is going to get all sticky and white, but that it isn't your true self. You are a panda and have both black and white fur. Sometimes, external factors (stress, ambition, wite-out explosions) obscure who we are, but integrity reminds us of our core.

2. Acceptance

People are different, and that's okay! With the Carolinian Creed, we look past our differences and accept each other.

I will respect the dignity of all persons;

3. Respect

People aren't the same as you. Some are not going to agree with you, but that's okay. Just because there's a disagreement doesn't mean you can't treat them kindly and with respect.

I will respect the rights and property of others;

4. Leadership

Being a leader is about much more than a title or position! It's about discouraging bigotry and learning from other people. It's about helping others be their best.

I will discourage bigotry, while striving to learn from differences in people, ideas, and opinions;

5. Compassion

Compassion is simple; it's about thinking of others and trying to help them succeed and do well! We make it seem hard, but it's as simple as sharing.

I will demonstrate concern for others, their feelings, and their need for conditions which support their work and development.
