The first images from Disney's live-action Aladdin were released today, and people are feeling a LOT of feelings about the upcoming movie (set to be released in 2019).
First, people were losing it that Will Smith (playing the Genie) didn't appear to be blue like in the animated version — although we later learned we will in fact change colors in the film.
THEN, once they got a few images into Entertainment Weekly's spread, people were freaking out when they realized the actor playing Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) is really frickin' hot.
The latest controversy? The fact Aladdin appears to be wearing a shirt under his vest, which is different than his appearance in the original.
This is upsetting for a variety of reasons. First of all, it's just DIFFERENT than the original. Also, shirtless Aladdin was the sexual awakening for an entire generation of closeted gay kids growing up.
ALSO THE ACTOR PLAYING ALADDIN (MENA MASSOUD) IS REALLY HOT AND IT JUST SEEMS UNFAIR THAT DISNEY PUT A SHIRT ON HIM AND THOUGHT IT WAS OK.
Naturally, a lot of people are upset about the decision.
They're more than a little pissed off.
Could this decision ruin the entire movie? MAYBE SO, to some!
Also, some pointed out that it just doesn't make any SENSE for him to have a shirt on?
Important questions were asked.
In the grand scheme of things, for many, this was the most upsetting thing to see.
People wondered HOW they came to this decision.
And some just want off this planet.
And there are others already worried how this bodes for other Disney live-action adaptations.
Basically, this seems to be a lot of peoples' moods with all this new information.
Alright, anyone want to use one of their three wishes for Aladdin to lose his shirt in the movie?
