After today's confirmation that NBC has renewed sitcoms 30 Rock and Parenthood, fans of abruptly shelved comedy Community were even more eager than usual for news of the cult hit's future -- and luckily, they didn't have to wait long: TVbytheNumbers and Vulture are reporting that the show has been picked up for a 13-episode fourth season.
It's welcome good news for fans who have endured seemingly inevitable cancellation, a very public spat between showrunner Dan Harmon and star Chevy Chase, a grassroots movement to save the show and the sudden euphoria of its late-season return.
Consider Greendale saved -- for now, at least. It's been reported that 30 Rock's abbreviated seventh season will be its last, so fingers crossed that Community's not getting the same send-off treatment.
