10 Things You Need To Know About Salthaven

Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Centre is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned or otherwise compromised wildlife; our goal is to return healthy animals to their natural habitat. Through education we are dedicated to increasing public awareness about and respect for the issues affecting Canadian Wildlife.

1. Salthaven, located in London, Ontario, receives 25 - 30 calls a day regarding displaced, sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife

2. Founder Brian Salt has been a wildlife rehabilitator since 1985

Brian is also an engaging public speaker who travels to schools, service clubs, churches, and local radio and television stations to raise awareness of local wildlife issues and what the public can do to help

3. Salthaven is a Non-profit, volunteer-based registered charitable organization with over 90 clinical volunteers

4. Salthaven also aims to inspire the community to develop empathy and a greater awareness of the natural world

In addition to rehabilitating sick, injured, orphaned or displaced wildlife, Salthaven also offers education programs and presentations.

5. Here is why Salthaven needs you: The organization receives over 4000 calls each year, and having outgrown the current facility, must turn away 75% of the animals in need of rehabilitation
