Saif Ali Khan Had Some Brutally Honest Thoughts About How Fake Bollywood Award Shows Are

"Honestly, if you ask me, there’s no such thing as an awards function. It’s the biggest joke in the world."

Over the past decade or so, Saif Ali Khan has become one of the most prolific Bollywood awards show hosts, alongside Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan.

At various points, Khan has been an emcee for film ceremonies on pretty much every Indian entertainment channel out there.

In doing so, he has also been part of some pretty questionable attempts at humour.

Last month, Khan chatted with Film Companion's Anupama Chopra to promote Chef. However, it's one particular clip, in which Khan talks about what a huge scam these shows are, that has recently started going viral.

When asked why he still does those gigs, Khan got brutally candid about the reality behind the scenes.

He called out TV producers for shady editing that makes it seem like the gags are funnier than they are.

And he railed on sponsors for not having their priorities straight.

And about whether he'd attend award shows in the future, Khan ended on a very candid note.
