11 Lies Indian Kids Tell Their Parents

    Jhooth bole kauwa kaate...

    1. "I'm going to stay over at Rohini's place. We are working on a project."

The fact that it's Valentine's day is merely coincidental, of course.

What parents think we are upto

    What we are really upto

    2. "It's just a rash. Hickey? What's a HICKEY?"

From donning scarves and turtlenecks to applying make up, we are ready to try almost anything to hide our love bites; leaving parents slightly confused about our newly acquired fashion sense.

3."My BFF? Bad influence? No way! She's the geekiest kid in class."

Image of BFF saved on parents' phone.

    BFF in real life

    4. "I do NOT smoke. How could you even ask me that? I'm hurt!"

When parents discover a pack of cigarettes in your room

    Rohini aka Rohan

7."You are going out of town for a week? WHY do you have to go? I'll miss you so much!"

    How they think we feel

    How we really feel

    8. "Of course, I eat healthy. I had a salad for lunch."

    What we really ate

    9. "(Random cousin/ neighbour) parties every night and comes back drunk. Tsk Tsk."

We join in when parents are bitching about the drinking habits of 'aaj kal ke bacche'. Almost a little too enthusiastically.

    This generation disgusts me

    How we really party

    10. "Don't touch my computer! It has REALLY important stuff on it!"

Yeah, all of us have that 'untitled folder'.

    Contents of untitled folder

    11. "Leave me alone!"

At some point, we have all said this to our parents. But somewhere deep inside we love the attention and drama.

    When they let us be
