Shortly After Facing Backlash For Canceling Her Show And Not Refunding Fans, Adele Clarified What Exactly Happened With Her Residency

"That was why it was so last minute, which I regret, obviously."

Last month, Adele canceled her Vegas show just 30 hours before she was set to perform. Basically, it was a huge deal because every girl, gay, and they was looking forward to Adele's residency debut.

The singer-songwriter tearfully delivered the news to fans in a video, citing COVID and delivery delays for the set. "Hi. I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you. But we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID."

All dates will be rescheduled More info coming soon 💔

Adele faced backlash in the following weeks for not immediately refunding people their tickets, which definitely cost a pretty penny. People also weren't happy she was posting smiling pics and attending the BRIT Awards, while ticketholders were left in the dark wondering about refunds:

@Adele Least no one is going to lose any money on you dropping out after thousands of tickets purchased.

What is interesting is that Adele is attending the Brits in London but Vegas Residency ticket holders still don’t know where they stand.

Well, this week, Adele went on The Graham Norton Show, where she talked about the cancelation.

Adele and Graham talking

“I tried my hardest. I really thought I would be able to pull something together in time," she told Graham. "That was why it was so last minute, which I regret, obviously."

"It just wasn't ready. There were lots of different reasons why — there were COVID delays with pieces of the show. There were some things that weren't gonna be arriving until the day of the show. Therefore, I'd never be able to see them or approve them."

"There were lots of layers to that. Our man power was down because I'm doing all this testing for all my crew and stuff. Our carpenters who were there to fix and change things — we had hardly any able to come to work," continued. "It would have been a really half-assed show, and I can’t do that."

"People will see straight through me up on the stage — being like, 'She doesn't want to be doing this.'"

"I’ve never done anything like that in my life, and I’m not going to start now," she added. "Obviously, gutted. We're working our asses off, literally 24 hours a day. I don't wanna announce a new set of dates, until I know everything will definitely be ready."

But there seems to be good news for those who purchased tickets. "It's 100% happening. It's absolutely happening this year. 100%," she said.

Well, there you have it! I guess hold onto those tickets and wait for an announcement because Adele's residency is COMING.

I, for one, cannot wait to watch every pixelated fan video and pretend I'm there. Have fun, y'all!
