At the time, Nicki Minaj was dating Meek Mill and best friends with Drake. So...it was preettttty awkward for her.
In a new interview with Beats1 Radio, Nicki — who's been noticeably absent on social media — opened up about how hard it was for her being caught in the middle of the beef.
It was one of the hardest parts of my career to date. At the time, I did love both of them. I couldn't erase the love that I had for my team. But I also couldn't speak out. I couldn't really say much. I felt so imprisoned in that moment.
Nicki also said that during the feud, Drake was only worried that Nicki would throw shots at him with her music.
When we later spoke about it, Drake said, "I wasn't worried about anything in that entire situation other than, 'What if Nicki takes a shot at me? Then what? What if Nicki spits bars at me?'" He said throughout the whole beef, that's the only thing he was worried about because that would've been so hurtful and painful for both of us.
"It was difficult to stay out. I was behind the scenes, of course, wishing it never happened. Even prior to it happening, I tried to stop it from happening. I said [to Meek], 'Don't do that!'
"One thing I do know is that both Meek and Drake have moved on from that — from the anger and all the stuff. We all have moved on."
But will this be the last tif she has with Drake? Probably not. "Drake is always mad at me," Nicki joked." He always finds a reason to not be my friend anymore. We're like an old married couple...Every time we make back up, we're like, 'You know I love you!'"
Honestly, who doesn't have someone in their life like that??? I have like 46 people mad at me at any given time. Anyway, glad to hear all is well with them and now I gotta go listen to Nicki's new singles. Toodles!
