Kid Rock's Gross, Sexist Comment About Taylor Swift Has Me Shaking My Head In Disgust

No.....just..........no.

You've probably seen that Taylor Swift has been using her huge platform recently to advocate for LGBTQ rights.

Last month, Taylor wrote an open letter to Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander urging him to support the Equality Act and said, "I personally reject the president's stance that his administration, 'supports equal treatment of all.'"

In the September 2019 issue of Vogue, Taylor opened up about the 2016 political election and her reluctance to endorse Hillary Clinton, fearing she could've been a liability for her campaign. She said:

"You know, the summer before that election, all people were saying was, 'She’s calculated. She’s manipulative. She’s not what she seems. She’s a snake. She’s a liar.' These are the same exact insults people were hurling at Hillary. Would I be an endorsement or would I be a liability? 'Look, snakes of a feather flock together. Look, the two lying women. The two nasty women.'"

Country singer Kid Rock apparently caught wind of Taylor's increased political activism — AND her landing a role in Cats — and decided to post this disgusting and sexist tweet about Taylor.

Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl. -Kid Rock

Like, first of all, put some respect on her name:

@KidRock 📣 @taylorswift13 is a WOMAN, not a girl. Put respect on her name. She’s 2019’s highest-paid celeb in the world, holds the title for highest-grossing U.S. tour EVER, became the first solo female to win the Album of the Year Grammy twice and isn’t afraid to try new things (acting)

Second of all, this attack is totally unprovoked. Kid Rock, maybe you need to look at yourself and ask, "Why am I so bothered that a successful woman used her platform to advocate for equality?" Seriously, though, WHY ARE YOU SO PRESSED, KID?

People were quick to call out his tweet as sexist and misogynistic:

@KidRock Hey Kid - The 50's called - they want their sexist, outdated thinking back.

@KidRock That’s rude. What did she do to hurt you and make you say such a misogynistic & mean comment?

@KidRock This unwarranted attack of a tweet says a lot about you. Petty, mean and so desperate for attention that you attempt to grab the coattails of younger person, using her spotlight to gain a little spotlight of your own. At 48 it’s time to grow up. #KidRockGrowUp

Some celebs also called him out, too. AS THEY SHOULD!

@KidRock Somehow that tweet was both gross and boring.

you’re pathetic. - Chrissy Teigen https://t.co/jCy9Ftp3CD

Spread love. Not hate. End of subject. https://t.co/skqP8lJ2UP

Basically, what Sheryl Crow said. Spread love, stop coming for Taylor Swift, and keep your outdated and problematic values to yourself. Thanks, bye!
