OK, so you probably know that Jay Z and Kanye West have been super close for a while:
But, they DEFINITELY have gone through rough patches — the roughest (that we know of) probably being when Kanye called out Jay and Beyoncé on his tour last year.
We hadn't really been updated on their friendship since the callout, until Jay Z talked about it in his New York Times interview last week:
Jay Z said he recently reached out to Kanye:
He said their relationship is complicated:
And competitive:
Jay also said that they're "going to always be good," but that there is understandable tension.
He said, "There's going to be complications that we have to get through," and the key to getting through is this:
The only way to get through that is if we sit down and have a dialogue and say, "These are the things that I'm uncomfortable with. These are the things that are unacceptable to me. This is what I feel." I'm sure he feels that I've done things to him as well. I'm not a perfect human being by any stretch.
