On Wednesday morning, Bachelor star Colton Underwood came out as a gay man on Good Morning America.
"Obviously, this year has been a lot for a lot of people, and it's probably made a lot of people look themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they've been running from or what they’ve been putting off in their lives," Colton told Robin Roberts. "And, for me, I've ran from myself for a long time — I've hated myself for a long time."
"I'm gay, and I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it," he continued. "The next step in all of this was letting people know. I'm still nervous, but yeah, it's been a journey. I'm emotional, but I'm emotional in such a good, happy, positive way."
Since then, this clip of Billy Eichner on the Bachelor with Colton in 2019 is going viral.
When Colton was asking Billy what he looks for in a partner, Billy joked, "I'm gay. I know that's a shock, Colton."
"That, I think, you should look into," Billy said, with that meaning being gay.
"Maybe you're the first gay Bachelor, and we don't even know!"
This was Colton's face. Yup, we (queer people) have all been here before, Colton.
Literally Colton in that moment:
In all seriousness, Colton coming out is such an amazing act of bravery and will hopefully inspire others to come out (when they're ready!).
Congratulations, Colton! And Billy, never change. <3
