Top Five Reasons To Date An Otaku

Have you ever met a geek into anime? You probably think you would never want to date someone like that... living in their parent's basement, eating ramen noodles, watching TV all day. Well, here are some fantastic reasons to date an otaku. Source: Why date Otaku? on MaiOtaku.com

    • 1. Most Otaku Are Useful

      Most Otaku Are Useful

In this tech-savvy world, it's pretty awesome to have a boyfriend or girlfriend who can make your laptop, desktop, and just about anything else that plugs into a wall behave itself. Chances are if you're also an Otaku, you could learn something from each other.

    • 2. Otaku are reliable and well-meaning.

While geeks and nerds may be awkward, Otaku are well-meaning 9 out of 10 times. That smooth dude with the sly grin and the spider hands? Do you have to wonder what HIS intentions might be... plus, Otaku always call you when they say they will.

    • 3. Otaku are low-maintenance

      Otaku are low-maintenance

Most Otaku can be fueled on pizza and Mt Dew. You don't have to plan some complicated dinner here. So what if you’re not the best cook, eh? Can you order a pizza and play an anime movie? It doesn't take three hours in the kitchen to impress an otaku - they'd rather have you right next to them, playing Halo Reach or watching Hellsing.

    • 4. Otaku are romantic.

More than given credit for. Ok true, my otaku friends' idea of romance might be to make up a spiffy web-page with all the reasons why we love you, with links to pics of you and sonnets and such... but it still lasts longer than flowers, plus you can show your friends.

    • 5. Otaku are good at remembering dates.

Like birthdates and such, especially if they know it’ll make you happy. Due again to their neglected status, they’re more attentive than guys who "have more options". Plus, with all that down time without a steady girlfriend/boyfriend, they’ll likely have mental lists of all the things they’d love to do once they got one.
