Last weekend, Twitter user jawk tweeted this photo of what appeared to be a Taco Bell taco with a shell made entirely out of chicken meat.
yo @tacobell i found a location that had a taco shell made out of chicken - it was so good. any more info on this?
Sort of like KFC's Double Down, which is two pieces of fried chicken sandwiching a piece of bacon and cheese.
Reddit user Cheez4444 reported another sighting of the chicken-only taco, saying he found it in Bakersfield, California. He described it as "pretty good" and "a little spicy."
So what is this mythical chicken taco? A Taco Bell spokesperson told BuzzFeed News that it's called a Naked Crispy Chicken Taco:
"The Naked Crispy Chicken Taco is our latest food innovation that delivers on our commitment to provide craveable, fun food you can only get at Taco Bell. It's our first and only taco with its shell made from premium, all-white meat chicken and filled with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese and fresh diced ripe tomatoes. We're conducting a small test in Bakersfield, California and will roll out nationally if successful.
