    Does My Degree Even Matter?

It seems impossible to find a job as a recent graduate and it's like having a degree or two doesn't have any stance to employers.

Its been about three months since I graduated with my Masters degree and the struggle to find a job is still real. I did find some a month ago, but they were the type I did in high school without a degree, like field marketing.

Recently, I met up with fellow graduates to discuss how our job hunts were going and it seems like we are all in the same boat. There are few of us who are employed, but you'd think it would be more than a handful.

The issues that I've run across are nothing new. Companies want young, vibrant workers, but expect us to have 5-7 years of experience. Hello, we were in school trying to get that degree that is a requirement by your company so we had no time for that.

The other issue I've come across is the "we want someone with more experience". This phrase here really brews my tea. In my head, I say "did you not see where I have a Bachelors and Masters degree? Does that mean anything to you?".

I feel like us Millennials are getting screwed over because when our parents were kids, you could get a great job right out of school, but now it means nothing.

Basically, if you're not doing school and constant internships at the same time, which I did, it's impossible to even get an interview. It's almost as if we're punished for going to college or even graduate school.

So to all the employers out there, we all have to learn skills over time and I'm sure someone taught you how to do your current job so stop expecting recent graduates to have all this experience immediately.
