If You've Ever Attended Culinary School, We Want To Hear Your Best Cooking Advice — From Mind-Blowing Revelations To Everyday Tips And Tricks

Psst — dish towels can be used for far more than you realize.

There's no shortage of cooking tips on the internet these days. Like, there are probably millions out there — some awesome, and some not so awesome. But when it comes to tried-and-true cooking tips that'll actually work, I always think it's best to just turn to the pros.

If you've ever attended culinary school, we want to hear from you. What are some cooking tips, tricks, or even hacks you learned in school that totally changed the game for you?

For example, maybe it's something as simple and effective as placing a damp kitchen towel underneath your cutting board. When you're prepping a ton of items all at once (and slicing and dicing like your life depends on it), that damp towel will keep things perfectly in place — minimizing the risks that come with a slipping and sliding cutting board.

Perhaps your #1 takeaway was to ALWAYS pre-heat your skillets. Getting things nice and hot before adding ingredients is really the only sure-fire way to minimize any sticking, no matter what type of pan you're cooking on.

Or maybe the greatest piece of advice you have is that prepping ingredients in advance really does make the process of cooking a dish much more straightforward. Mise en place isn't always followed religiously by home cooks, but in your experience, you know that it's truly the key to making sure things go exactly as planned.
