Well...by rorybroomfieldCommunity ContributorLinkFacebookPinterestTwitterMail The EU gave Poland more than €100 million to build at least three airports that nobody uses It also had enough money left over to spend £1 million on four unelected temporary EU Commissioners that did just four months work... AND promise to give this guy over £400,000 The EU did some other things as well. Like plan to make cancer research "impossible" It also banned mangos from India from coming into the EU And while we're on food: it was reported that new EU food safety laws also meant diseased meat from abattoirs could now end up in sausages and pies The EU even introduced new regulations that could increase the cost of oven gloves by 20 per cent On energy, there were new EU targets that could add £150 to household energy bills The EU also introduced a new energy directive that banned some high-powered vacuum cleaners AND some high-powered hairdryers AND some kettles AND some toasters Jean-Claude Juncker was installed as the new EU Commission President... In a way that was typical of the EU's (un)democratic ways Juncker does like to tell countries how to vote though... He also envisages an EU Energy Union, more taxes on small businesses and says "we will need a European army" Don't worry, while Juncker was dreaming up his plans some MEPs might have been thinking how to spend their SECOND PENSIONS... While the EU Commission demanded more money from the UK taxpayer (and gave others money back)... And the EU Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled that obesity can be a disability... And that part of the UK visa system is illegal But don't worry, in 2014 the EU gravy train trundled on costing the EU taxpayer roughly €114 million just to get MEPs from Brussels to Strasbourg. This "travelling circus" also results in around 20,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions All in all, the British people are Better Off Out
