Here Are Some Delicious Contestants From The British Pie Awards

I will judge these pies. With my mouth. Bring them to me.

This year's annual British Pie Awards took place yesterday at St Mary's Church in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

The competition entries included this celebration pork pie, which was entered into the savoury category.

The awards, hosted by the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association, were founded to protect regional specialities, and support British produce.

Food journalists, farmers and baking experts judged the awards. The supreme champion of all pies, who has not yet been selected, will win £1,000.

This roast pork farmhouse pie was judged as part of the "Fit for a Hero" category.

    So was this one.

It was filled with steak, kidney and onion.

This shot is just completely gratuitous pie porn. Look at it, though.

    PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE.

Road trip to Melton Mowbray, anyone?
