A Gentle Reminder That Michael Clarke Is A Deadset Legend

    Thanks, Pup.

    1. When a fresh-faced, blonde-tipped youngster made his debut in India and just straight-up smashed a century.

    2. But then he came home to Australia and hit another century. Because that's just what you do.

    3. So of course, the powers that be named him our best player in his debut season.

    4. But then things went a bit wrong, and eventually Clarke was dropped from the Test side for the first and only time in his career.

    5. But like all champions, he came back better than ever, smashing centuries in our Ashes series victory over England.

    6. Then Ricky Pointing got injured and Clarke was named stand-in captain and it just felt ~right~

    7. Let's not forget, for a while he was also one half of our Posh and Becks. It was ... something.

    8. He also gave modelling a crack.

    9. Which gave us moments like this.

    10. But he was still a pretty decent batter. Like the time he scored 329 not out in Sydney.

    11. Then followed up with 210 in Adelaide. This was Clarke's golden summer.

    12. He was also pretty handy with the ball. Like the time he took three wickets in five balls to win a test match against India.

    13. Or the time he took six for nine against India. SIX. FOR. NINE.

    14. Let's not forget when he married Kyly Boldy and gave us this photo.

    15. Then he lost his best mate, and the whole country mourned with him.

    16. And he spoke for all of us when he remembered Phillip Hughes.

    17. Then despite being in a world of pain, he returned to the pitch and scored a century, and we all watched in awe.

    18. But eventually the injuries started piling up.

    19. And we knew his career was coming to an end.

    20. And then he called it a day because he knew it was the right time.

    21. And now he gets one more chance to go out a winner, and the whole country will be behind him.

    22. Thanks, Pup.
