Twenty people are injured, three of them critically, after a car smashed into a Queensland cafe causing a gas bottle to explode.
Eyewitnesses have described a "horrific scene" after the ute ploughed through a nearby garden and into the front of the Serves You Right cafe in Ravenshoe in Queensland's north at around midday.
The truck is then thought to have hit a gas cylinder, causing a massive explosion.
"We just heard a massive sonic boom and went running out and saw the cafe on fire and lots of burnt people," a witness told the ABC.
Eight ambulances, two helicopters and and the Royal Flying Doctor Service were dispatched to the scene. Three patients have been airlifted to Cairns and Townsville hospitals in a critical condition.
The Queensland ambulance service earlier confirmed that one person had died, but has since retracted that claim.
