Mongolia

Breathtaking scenery. Vibrant cities. World-class wines. All the steak you could ever want. Wine. Honestly if you don't book your flights soon we'll go in your place. Did we mention there's wine?

Argentina

Other than their badass tusks, arguably an elephant's most admirable quality is that it has no idea what Brexit is. What a life that must be! Pack your bags, Timon and Pumbaa are waiting...

Kenya

We don't know much about lemurs, except for the fact that they look pretty fucking cute, they live in Madagascar, and they don't argue endlessly about whether certain emails broke any laws. Be more like lemurs. Go to Madagascar.

Madagascar

All you need to know about Kiribati is that it looks like this, and is about as far away from the US and UK as you could possibly get. Enjoy your new home! Can we visit?

Crack open the tequila, you're moving to Mexico! From now on your life will be one big fiesta. And if you're worried that it's a little too close to the US, fear not – there's talk of someone building a wall, apparently...

In a year that's been full of...well...we all know what it's been full of, but what could be more cleansing than the calm serenity of the Land of the Rising Sun? Also they have incredible food and trains that _actually_ run on time. It may sound crazy, but it's true...

Japan

OK, so the weather might not be great, but that's pretty much your new homeland's only flaw. Stunning countryside, the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet, and lots and lots of pubs. Oh, and they're still in the EU, if that's a thing you like...

Republic of Ireland

Not only is it painfully beautiful, but apparently Nepal has some of the slowest download speeds in the world – meaning you'll (hopefully) spend less time reading the bad political opinions of people you haven't seen since high school on Facebook. Result!

Rather than watching wannabe Bond villains on the news (on both sides of the Atlantic), in your new home you can live like an \*actual\* Bond villain. Shark tank and fluffy white cat optional.

Thailand

OK, so the Australian political situation isn't a whole lot better than their long lost cousins in the UK and US...BUT at least they can be angry and scared while sat on the beach with a cold beer and a barbecue. So that's something.

Australia

Having a population of just 300,000, Iceland is the perfect place if you want to avoid, well, pretty much everyone. And given what's happened so far this year that seems like a pretty solid plan. Throw in the Blue Lagoon, geysers, glaciers, and a shit-ton of volcanoes and you've got yourself a pretty appealing new homeland. Enjoy!

We have it on pretty good authority that if you head down to Copacabana and grab yourself a couple of caipirinhas you'll not only forget who Trump, Clinton, and Farage are, but you'll also forget who \*you\* are. What more could you want?

Brazil

Remember when we could all smugly make jokes about things Silvio Berlusconi said and did? Hmm. It would seem karma is very much a thing. Oh well, what's done is done – just focus on the three Ps your new homeland does better than anyone: pasta, pizza, and Prosecco. Arrivederci!

Italy

If you're sending out an SOS at the state of British and American politics, maybe you should Take a Chance on Sweden. You'll spend a lot of Money, Money, Money, as it's not the cheapest place in the world, but it's worth every penny. In Sweden happiness is the Name of the Game. Knowing Me, Knowing You, you'll absolutely love it. Aha!

Look at this waterfall. Just look at it. It is scientifically proven that it's impossible to look at this waterfall and be mad/sad about politics at the same time. So what are you waiting for? Also, THEY HAVE SLOTHS.

Costa Rica

If getting as far away as you possibly can from all the terrible things that 2016 has given us is your goal then look no further than New Zealand. Much better than Old Zealand, your new homeland offers some of the most breathtaking views on the planet. And if you want to make your new neighbours like you, just make _Lord of the Rings_ jokes as often as you can. Honestly, they love that shit.

In the same way that you like to stand next to your short friends to make yourself look taller, comparing Justin Trudeau's Canada to Brexit-battered Britain and the most baffling US election anyone has seen in decades is almost embarrassing. Look at him. LOOK AT HIM. Knowing good old Justin, he'll probably be there to meet you at the airport. Say hello from us, eh?
