1. Life is Full of Diversity

Whether it's a jumble of emotions as we try to stir ourselves through life, or a variety of people at a U.N. debate. We live in a world with multiple opinions, diverse cultures and an endless array of possibilities. Learn to navigate through it and enjoy the ride.

2. Our Past is a Big Part of Who We Are

We all have experienced something meaningful, traumatic, eye-opener, sorrowful or just plain and simply joyous that has had a long lasting impact in our lives. And our character and personality has been sculpted slowly by this events and memories that have made us who we are today.

Sure, our past has made us who we are today, yet it does not dictate who we will become tomorrow. Sure, perhaps you failed that first hockey tryout, but that does not mean that you're bound to fail again. Do not let past experiences of failure discourage you from archiving your goals, exploring new things, trying old things, seen new places and looking forward to tomorrow.

4. Parent's aren't all Knowing and all Powerful

All good parents want their children to have great and happy lives, unfortunately their aren't 24/7 all knowing beings who can pry into our subconscious and know what you're going through.

For all their good intentions, parents are at times oblivious to their kids hardships if they are not made aware of them. Speak with them, they have probably experienced something similar to what you are going through and their wisdom is invaluable.

5. Everybody has Their Off Days

It's no secret when you are having a bad day. Even the most joyful of people experience them every once in a while. It's natural, its ok, and you just have to toughen up and traverse through the day looking for all the positives instead of the negatives. When that doesn't work. Well, that's when you start rallying all the people behind and petitioning companies for "Off-days". With companies giving vacation days, maternity leave days, sick-days and what not, they should also have an official amount for "off-days." For when your world just seems to be crashing down around you and you just need a time-out to breathe.

Whether you dream of a handsome helicopter pilot or world dominion, everyone has their own fantasies. It's just a matter of distinguishing which ones are worth pursuing, and which are best kept to ourselves.

7. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

We may not be the best at admitting it, and though at times we may think we have things under control, it isn't always so. When you realize you're in over your head or simply needing a hand, its best to seek help. A fresh outlook, some advice, and even some hands on teamwork can go a long way in solving whatever it is you're having trouble with.

8. Parents Will be Parents

They may not be the "coolest" people on the block, but they are certainly your champions. Your parents take care of you, are there to support you (sometimes going overboard, but that's their job). They act both as the overprotective guardians and the pillars that supports your dreams. They try to be the north by which your compass leads and set a positive example for your to follow. Above all, they will always have your back.

9. Sometimes You Have to get Lost....Before you Find Yourself

Be it moving to a new house, a new lifestyle, a new country even...At times life will throw us over the deck of our own ship, and it is our job to swim ashore. It is never simple, but it is doable.

Its natural to sometimes feel lost and unsure about where life is going, no one ever wrote a successful manual for life (at least not that I'm aware of, if they did I would like a copy right now!). Just take the days as they come and see what it is that makes you smile, what sparks that passion in you and once you find it, its just about pursuing it. As the saying goes, "a smooth sea never made a skillful sailor."

10. Home is Where the Heart is

At the end of the day, be it your family, a best friend, or the love of your life. Home is always where we fell most comfortable, where you can be yourself without reproach and best of all, appreciated by who you are. It can be a place or just one person, but it is where your heart lays and the place that your soul calls too.
